Have you ever had a friend that invaded your personal space?  You know, someone who stands too close to you when they talk to you?  Or have you ever had an acquaintance that kept coming around bothering you and  annoying you when all you wanted was to  be left alone?

 

We have all had (may still have) friends and acquaintances like that.  You know how annoying it is.  If you're like me, you probably just put up with it.  But deep inside you just want to scream at them, "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

 

I was reading Matthew 7:21-23 the other day.  These are the verses where Jesus says that not everyone who says to Him Lord, Lord  will enter the kingdom of heaven.   In verse 22 Jesus says that people will protest that they did wonderful things in the name of Jesus.  Then the killer verse is 23 where ...

Did you know that the earth spins at around 1,000 mph?  Have you ever thought about what would happen to us if the earth spun at say 2,000 mph or what if it didn't spin at all?

 

Or have you ever thought about how a drop of rain feels like nothing as it hits your face, but the weight of rain in an average rain storm is 80 tons.  This is approximately the same weight as 40 railroad cars.  So why doesn't all of this weight smash us when we are out in a rain storm?

 

How about the hydrological cycle.  Fresh water runs into the oceans and then they are distributed back over the land through rain.  The Mississippi River dumps 6 million gallons of water per second into the Gulf of Mexico.  That's a tremendous amount of water and this is only one river!

I was watching a guy on youtube the other day and he said that he was going to follow Socrates.  What in the world was he talking about?

 

He went on to say that he didn't believe in God or Jesus, so he was going to believe in Socrates.  Socrates was a wise person and he was going to follow him.  He said that Socrates never said that you had to believe everything he said or you would end up in Hell.  That is true.  Socrates never said that.  But Socrates wasn't the Son of God.  Socrates was a mere mortal like you and me.  Socrates didn't always speak the truth and only the truth.  Socrates sometimes gave us his opinion.

 

Jesus Christ never gave us His opinion.  He only spoke the truth.  Jesus is Truth.  John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the ...
