 Why is Christianity the Right Religion?

Bill Hybels with Willow Creek Church near Chicago gives a very simple answer to the question why is Christianity the right religion?  Do versus Done.
 
In every other religion in the world you have to DO something.  In all the other religions you have to "earn" your way into heaven.  The problem with these religions (besides being Christ-less) is that how do you determine when you have done enough?  Several world religions believe that you have to do more good than bad in your life.  How in the world would you ever know when you've accomplished this? 
 
With Christianity, we don't have to do anything.  Ephesians 2:8-9 says that salvation is a gift from God.  There is nothing we can do on our own to earn salvation.  We don't have anything we can do because Jesus has already DONE the work of salvation.  He suffered and died ...

 Land of Milk and Honey

The Bible refers to the promised land of the Israelites in the Old Testament as the land of milk and honey.  The phrase milk and honey makes me think of a nation of plenty.  A nation with many resources and a country that is blessed by God.
 
Then all of these descriptions make me think of the United States of America.  I believe our great nation has been greatly blessed by God over the years.
 
But are we still a blessed and favored nation today?  Watch the news tonight or read the newspaper to see.  How many times do you hear about a parent killing their own children in our country?  (In the past month, we've had a couple of fathers in this area that have been accused of killing their own kids - right here in the good ole Ozarks!)
 
Look at all the murders, thefts, gang ...

 Jesus Came to Seek and Save the Lost

Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Have you ever lost something valuable to you? When I was 16 years old I was raking hay for my grandpa and I lost my billfold. It was on a Friday and I had just gotten paid. I don't remember exactly now, but I think I had around $120 in the billfold. I was really upset about losing everything including my driver's license.   

Several years later my grandpa found the billfold when he was feeding his cows.  I was so excited that I got it back. Have you ever really thought about Jesus coming to earth to seek and to find you? Jesus loved you so much that He was willing to suffer and die on the cross for your sins and mine. That truly is amazing love. 

All of us need to realize that our sins have separated us ...
