I have to admit that I enjoy eating food. My waist line proves it. I need to lose a few pounds (and hopefully I can do that starting the new year). I love meat and potatoes and I seem to never fill up on deserts.
But there is something more important than our physical needs and that is our spiritual needs. To take care of our spiritual needs we have to feed on the Bible. In Matt. 4:4 Jesus said "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."
Christians, do you do this? Do you read the Bible everyday? I'm not being legalistic here. In fact, I'm not even suggesting that you read a certain number of chapters every day. I'm merely asking do you read your Bible every day? Even if it is just one verse and you meditate on ... >> full

What is the true meaning of Christmas? Some people think it is about family. Others say it is to give presents and still other people think it is about receiving presents. Being around family and sharing presents is a great thing to do. It is joyful to see the faces of our children when they open their presents on Christmas Day. But is this really why we celebrate Christmas?
We celebrate Christmas to remember the birth of our Lord Jesus. Have you ever thought about why was He born to begin with? He was residing in Heaven prior to that, so what was the purpose of Him being born and coming into this world as a baby? The Bible says that all things were created by Him (1 Cor. 1:16). So why would Jesus leave His home in Heaven and come down to earth and be born as a helpless baby?

God saved me from sins about four years ago and for about the past three years I have been actively sharing my faith with others. During that time, the thing that is most consistent (with professing Christians and non-Christians alike) is that most people think they are good.
This shouldn't be surprising because Proverbs 20:6 says "Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?" But what's really interesting is that the Bible says that there is none that does good, no not one (Psalm 14:1-3).
So most people think they are good and that's because by our standards - our human standards, most of us are good. Most of us have never killed someone or raped anyone. That's why most of us proclaim ourselves good.
Can you see the disconnect? We think we are good, but the Bible says that we are not good. So ... >> full

You only have three minutes to live. What do you do? What goes through your mind?

A little while back I saw a church sign that said, "Not to think alike, but to walk together." I'm not sure what that really means, but my best guess is that they are saying, we love you, we accept you just as you are. Come on in and join us. We don't care what you believe, we are all on our own spiritual journey. It doesn't matter if we believe the same thing or not. In other words, anything goes. The important thing is to be together, love each other and accept each other. We don't judge anyone.
Let's test this theory. I'm a God fearing, Bible believing, sinner saved by grace. I'm a Christian. I know that I am a sinner who was bound for Hell except for the mercy and grace of Almighty God, who opened my blind spiritual eyes and saved me through the shed blood of ... >> full
