 The Past is the Past

Even though I'm getting older, I can still remember some things.  Mainly useless trivia or unimportant things.  But some important things that I should remember are just gone.  Sometimes I just can't retrieve the information.  This gets very frustrating at times.  On the other hand, sometimes I dwell on past mistakes too much.  Sometimes I carry around burdens that I should have let go of a long time ago.  

If you are Christian, if you have been saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, then you have been forgiven by God.  God no longer sees you through your own "goodness".  God sees you through the righteousness of Jesus Christ.  2 Corinthians 5:21 states, "For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

Furthermore, Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them ...

 How Good is Your Hearing?

How good is your hearing?  Have you ever taken one of those hearing tests where they check each ear individually and then both ears together?  How about your kids?  Have you ever noticed how their hearing isn't too good when you ask them to do something they don't want to do?
 
Jesus spoke many times about hearing.  He said, "he who has ears let him hear."  He also told the parable about the different types of soil in Matt. 13:3-8.  Jesus basically describes how people react to hearing the Word of God.  Some people hear the Good News and they don't understand it.  Satan steers people away from the truth.  Some people hear the Gospel and are excited at first, but then when trouble comes they don't stand firm on the truth.
 
Still others hear the plan of salvation and seem to get it, but then they start ...

 Apologize...Not Me!

A Christian apolgist is someone who defends Christianity.  The base word is apologia, which is a greek word that means defense.  So people that say they are Christian apologists are defenders of the faith.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with defending the faith.  This is very biblical and something that more Christians should do.  I Peter 3:15 says, But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. 

Clearly, we are to defend the faith.  Personally, I am not ashamed of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I will gladly talk to anyone at anytime about Jesus.  But I really dislike the word apologist.  I don't know about you, but every time I hear the word apologist, the first thing I think of is apologize.  I ...
